161, Marina Hadjipateras, Founder & General Partner, TMV

Welcome to the 161st episode of the Shipping Podcast, in which you will be listening to Marina Hadjipateras, Founder & General Partner, TMV, an early-stage venture capital fund.
Marina is second-generation Shipowners who now is investing in sustainability, shipping, logistics, work and care. She is looking for start-ups interested in the maritime industry but may not understand the business. Examples of companies that Marina has engaged in are Nautilus Labs and Transmute.

We discuss what impact the pandemic has had on the maritime industry. Marina thinks that since more people have access to see and understand how the maritime industry works, that has lead to a greater interest in our line of business.

The mindset of “don’t fix what isn’t broken” is gone. Now it’s more open ears and hearts interested in listening to new ideas prevalent in the maritime industry.

Thank you for listening. I am @lenagothberg on most online channels. Please give me a shout-out and let me know what you think about Marina’s view of things.

Welcome to the 158th episode of the Shipping Podcast, where you meet Captain Thomas Lindegaard Madsen of VENTA MAERSK, Maersk Line, one of the more visible role models in the maritime industry.

Thomas has been sailing for almost thirty years and has experience with many different vessels. Currently, his vessel is trading in the Baltic Sea area and this year he is enjoying ice navigation.

We get so many insights from Captain Thomas in this episode. He is talking about opportunities with the new technology development, and it is apparent that he loves his job.

Thomas is sharing his concerns about being public on social media. It gives a perspective on how we can showcase the maritime industry to the world by using social media.

I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did. Both Thomas and I love feedback; please give us a shout out if you think this was worth the time listening to. I am @lenagothberg in most channels.
