135 Sarah E. Brennan, Deputy Chief, Safety and Security Operations, United States Coast Guard
Please accept my apologies for this late release of the 135th episode of the Shipping Podcast. There are so many things to take care of during this pandemic and I was caught a little bit off guard with how to proceed with the interviews.
Last week I was fortunate to get hold of Sarah Brennan, Lieutenant Commander of the US Coast Guard, who was kind enough to jump on a Zoom call with me and talk about what it’s like to be a maritime investigator and how many cool jobs she has had within the Coast Guard. We also speak about diversity, of course. Continue Reading …
134 Rasmus Blomqvist, Chief Officer, Mont Ventoux, Marseille, France – Rades, Tunisia
Seafarers are the unsung heroes of global trade.
Episode 134 – in spite of the Coronavirus.
This episode is recorded online, so the sound quality is not as exceptionally good as usual. On the other hand, you get to listen to a young Master Mariner who is now stuck on his vessels since the pandemic is causing trouble with crew change. No one can leave the ship and no one can come on board, the entire ship is a quarantine. How does it feel? What do you do? What are you longing for the most and how do you keep up?
Thank you for listening, please keep the seafarers in mind, they are usually out of sight, but they are the ones keeping the maritime part of the global supply chain running.
I love feedback! Please send it to me at hello@shippingpodcast.com or comment below, or tag me in social media, I am @lenagothberg almost everywhere.
