Anders Brödje has been with the Swedish Maritime Administration, SMA, for a very long time. He is very passionate about management of information and how manual work processes in the maritime domain can be automated and digitalised, reducing the risks and contributing to a safer, more efficient maritime industry reducing the environmental footprint.
E-navigation is the evolution of navigation says Anders, who is a Master Mariner himself and has worked as a VTS operator after his time at sea.
This episode is filled with abbreviations, why it is necessary with a list of them and links to where you can read more about the organisations mentioned.
IMO – International Maritime Organisation
ICS – International Chamber of Shipping
IALA – International Association of Lighthouse Authorities
BIMCO – The Baltic and International Maritime Council
MUNIN – Maritime Unmanned Navigation through Intelligence in Networks
It’s a brimming episode after which you will convinced that there is development going on in many different areas within the shipping industry.

Lena- Really enjoying your podcasts. Just listening to Anders and looked at your notes of abbreviations. Just wanted you to know ICS is also the acronym for the Incident Command System (also know as IMS Incident Management System) Kärt barn har många namn.
Keep producing new episodes. They are great.

Thanks Agneta, it means very much to me that you give me such good feedback! Would it be too much to ask to put it on iTunes as well? We are reaching for the top list over there, and I can already see that it is working – people randomly finding it and sending me feedback! <3
